India Untravelled 2020

The world has seen a tremendous change over the course of just a few months. The Covid-19 virus has ensured that social distancing, quarantine and sanitation are not just mere words but a lifestyle. The traditional Indian greeting of ‘Namaste’ is considered most hygienic and is now being adopted all over the world rather than hugging or handshaking, to keep most of the human race protected from the Corona virus.

The BCAS had conceived of the theme ‘India Untravelled 2020’ for this Referencer 2020-21 long before the virus travelled to our shores and made travelling difficult if not impossible but only for reasons permitted by the authorities. When times are dark and difficult, one always dreams of a better time to look forward to. These pleasant musings of a rosier future make our present bearable and make us stronger.

‘India Untravelled 2020’ takes you to places where natural and environmental beauty ease the mind and spirit. These locations in India are truly stunning and just looking at images of these locales can fill you with serenity and calmness and if these places can help you dream of happier times in scenic locations then we would consider this publication to be a success.

Every journey, whether professional or personal is an adventure unto itself. However, while professional journeys take you towards excellence in your chosen career, journeys to explore the world take you towards a better understanding of life and yourself, ultimately helping you grow beyond your boundaries.

India is the world’s seventh largest country with a lively culture that has been kept alive for millennia. India has a vast array of places combining tropical forests, hot & cold deserts, biospheres and unlimited choices to explore and enjoy.

‘India Untravelled 2020’ theme presents you with some of the unique locations within our own country. These are largely untouched by the commotion of commercial tourism and tucked away amidst dramatic landscapes that provide an opportunity to seclude oneself from the daily grind and immerse yourself into the beauty of nature’s ever open hands.

India’s offbeat locations are truly noteworthy because they offer incredible experiences in lesser-known places where you can explore natural beauty and unusual cultures thus creating a truly unique experience of a lifetime.

India has some of the most beautiful locales in the world like Gokarna with its Om beach in Karnataka, Tadoba tiger reserve in Maharashtra, Bundi palace in Rajasthan, Hemis with its snow leopards and its Buddhist monastery in Leh, Chopta in Uttarakhand and Patan’s UNESCO recognised Rani-ki-Vav in Gujarat to name just a few.

Visiting these places is not only a unique experience for travellers but more importantly it is a great support to the locals. It bolsters the local economy and encourages entrepreneurs, especially women, sometimes involving the entire community like in Hemis in Jammu & Kashmir. Most importantly, it gives visitors a genuine insight into local culture and overall a more authentic experience.

As you turn the pages of this Referencer to refer to a clause or amendment, also pause to look at the locations presented here and let your imagination soar as you imagine visiting that place. We can say with confidence that this BCAS Referencer 2020-21 will definitely take you places.
